Senol Zorlu is a Turkish photographer whose life
and background has been highly influential on his own work. He had the chance
to experience life abroad (living and working in Germany, mostly) and to travel
the world taking photographs. His particular approach to photography is very
descriptive. The purpose of his photographs is not to create artist
compositions the same way some photographers "engineer" a shot. Senol
Zorlu is much more concerned about the moments, emotions and stories that he
can capture with his camera. His photographs strike for a realistic, yet
emotional and very spontaneous feel. Faces, looks, colours, items, landscapes
and environmental features are all part of a story, whose twist and development
are hidden within the very fabric of each and every image.
Senol Zorlu's photographic work has been
extensively used by non profit organisation the likes of Save The Children or
UNICEF, among many others. His realistic and emotional style reflects the ideas
and values of such groups, and it turn, it offers a great "canvas"
for the work of this artist.
