Alex Prager's 'Face in the Crowd' series is so busy and exciting.
The works burst with life and action. It makes the audience reflect on singular characters, forcing us to take an interest in their movement, intention and thoughts. This curiosity is enhanced as it is obvious that the photographs have been staged. It forces you to consider the artists intention and message.
The images are cleverly composed, particularly with angle and zoom. Our perspective is just close enough that we are able to determine the models expressions and body language however far away enough that our eye is drawn to no character in particular - we are free to explore each model with curiosity and intrigue - creating assumptions about their character and situation.
