would not have to search long to find a photographic masterpiece by Steve
McCurry, but I would have to search hard to find a shot of his that I didn’t
like. His pieces speak for themselves and very rarely require an explanatory
caption, but his unique style is what makes me an admirer of both his work and
approach.
McCurry’s style is one that captures the faces, expressions, and
moments of some of the world’s most uniquely outstanding people, cultures, and
traditions. From the famous Afghan refugee girl with haunting green eyes to the
stunning photograph of the Sri Lankan fishermen, Steve manages to vibrantly
display a thousand words in one shutter snap.
Not
many photographers travel far and wide searching and seeking to capture the
soulful essence of humanity. McCurry, however, whether using slides, film, or
digital images, manages to harness his photojournalism expertise and deliver,
time and again.
McCurry's style can be identified immediately as one that
personifies patience, passion, and professionalism.
