Thomas Devaux's 'Attrition' exhibition is one of the most beautiful collection of works I have had the honor of viewing. Devaux creates a fine line between photography, painting and drawing which in itself is almost guaranteed an interesting appeal to the art. Although, leaving aside the technicality of the pieces, the images created are hauntingly beautiful in their own right.

Devaux's models could almost be described as unreal or dreamlike as a result of being made up of many different bodies, all with a hint of transparency to them. Devaux places figures of hallucination lingering in darkness, creating emotionally dense and heavy images.This is something that rarely hits the mark without being cliche or typical.
