Many of Chris Sisarich's works remind me of the Sean Pen's film Into the Wild. Saturated in a heavy mood, but ultimately portraying a message of freedom in it's most purest form.
To me, these images are about connecting not only with nature and it's power, but also with solitude and ultimately the self. Being renowned as a lifestyle photographer (featuring as a judge on New Zealand's Next Top Model due to his own modelling work and already established photography career) this level of depth is rather unexpected - which leads me to question my own theories on this style.
I think what I love most is the daunting sense of space that is a common theme throughout Sisarich's works, it is humbling and awe inspiring to say the least. A constant sense of seclusion and silence makes these photographs very powerful and almost holy.
